On the 7th September 2024, the debut of the highly-anticipated APEX Games, a ‘Hyrox-style’ event hosted at the Norfolk Showground, took place. Accompanied by our biggest ever sample sale, across the day, we saw an impressive 2,500 people in attendance.
The event was the first of its kind and brought together over 200 athletes from 9 independent gyms. Teams went head-to-head in gruelling competition, facing challenges in strength, endurance, and summit zones, in a high-intensity workout.
Spectators including family, friends, and wider gym communities lined the perimeter of the workout zone and eagerly cheered competitors, who gave it their all around the race - despite the fact that many were running in the inaugural Run Norwich 10k the following day!
The competition concluded with winners in women’s, men’s, and mixed categories, with Perfit taking the overall lead.
Attendees of the day could also take part in a yoga session or a 3k run, and enjoy being fuelled by a variety of local street food vendors.
“We couldn’t have asked for anything more from our very first APEX Games”, said Victoria Norman, Events Manager. “The day truly brought the Norfolk fitness community together and we can’t wait to continue to grow APEX and see where future events take us!”
